From Danang to Hue

I woke up to find it raining. As I had the intention of just chilling at the beach, I just chilled at the hostel instead and watched some films in the social room. I tried to book an easy rider (motorbike trip) to Hue but it was way over my budget so I booked a train instead, which was $2 instead of $50!

For Halloween, the hostel had put on a Halloween event. We all had dinner together at the hostel and watched some scary films. 'Hostel' is probably not the best film to watch while you're backpacking!

My train to Hue was not until midday the next day so I spent my morning getting a massage! The train was actually pretty nice and passed through some beautiful areas.

When I got there, I instantly got swapped by men offering taxis. I met a girl from Germany and a guy from the States who said I could share their taxi. Having no idea where to stay, I checked into Hue Hostel, which turned out to be not so great.

I went for a walk round town. I went up to the 'Perfume River,' which has a bridge which lights up 7 different colours.

When I was heading back to the hostel, I was approching by some Vietnamese girls who asked if they could talk to me in English. Being in no rush, I let them ask me questions. It turned out they were studying English at University and one of their seminar projects was to talk to foreigners.

I'd arranged to meet up with the German girl and American guy from the train so we went for dinner together. We tried some really spicey sauce which near enough blew my face off!

Way too spicey sauce

I noticed a backpackers hostel whilst out so decided I would check into there the next day.
