He turned out to be from Canada, and there were 4 others who were also travelling on their own. A girl from New Zealand, an Aussie guy and a guy and a girl both from Barcelona.
We got on the first boat which took us along the Mekong to the first Island.
Travelling along the Mekong Delta- river that runs through 6 countries
We got to see some bees. We had the option of holding them but the idea of holding a load of bees didn't really appeal to me!
Our tour guide holding the bees!
They gave us a tiny (literally!) cup of honey tea, which was made using honey and lime and let us try some honey covered snacks- which were pretty good!
They was a snake there as well which we could hold. I didn't hold it as had already done this is Thailand and found it far too heavy then!
Me with my tiny cup of tea!
After that, we went down the river in a rowing boat. They gave us Vietnamese hats to wear (which I loved!) Whenever we passed another boat, they would say 'give money' to us. I'm not sure how they thought we would be able to give money passing them in a boat!

We got back to our main boat and travelled along the Mekong to another Island. Here they were making candy from coconuts. I found it a bit chewy for my liking. They would make the candy using machines, and individually wrap each candy in rice paper and then in the wrapper. It was interesting to see.

We stopped for lunch, (past a buffalo that was chilling in the river) before heading to the last island. Here we got to try different types of fruit- dragon fruit, some small bananas, pineapple and some other spiky fruit that I can't remember the name of, and listen to some music. The people from the island sang for us and played traditional instruments like a 2 string guitar. We got to try to use them after.

When we got back to the hostel, I met up with the same people from the night before and we went out to some night clubs.
I'm going to check out the sand dunes here, in Mui Ne, today and head off to Datat tomorrow.
