Ho Chi Minh City is crazy!

After saying goodbye to my mum, auntie, grandma and cousin at the airport, I ventured through security.

I made it onto the flight ok, which was slightly delayed.
The cabin crew reassured me that my transfer plane would wait for me so when I saw a woman with a sign for Ho Chi Minh City, I went to her and took the new boarding pass she gave me. There was another girl who was also headed to Ho Chi Minh so we went together to the gate the woman had directed us to. Upon getting there the lady told me that the flight was to Singapore. After freaking out for a bit, being directed around the whole airport, we finally boared the plane to Singapore and caught a transfer, arriving 5 hours later to Vietnam.

Arriving at Vietnam, I had hit a point of exhaustion where I wasn't really with it. I found my transfer ( yep my name was on a sign!) and set off towards the hostel.

Even though I've been to Vietnam before, either I'd forgotten quite how crazy it is or Hanoi wasn't quite as bad as Ho Chi Minh. There are so many mopeds. They're literally everywhere! I'd like to say they drive on the right but I think they just go wherever they want! We weaved through the traffic past all the neon signs, ( I don't think I've every heard so much honking!) and eventually got to the hostel.
I pretty much fell asleep as soon as I got there.

The next day I thought I'd take a wonder down the road. I got talking to a guy with one of those bike things where you sit in the front and he cycles you places, and he said he take me to China town.

He took me to some Chinese temple and a Chinese market.

Chinese temple

This is the lady Bhudda

He charged me nearly £25- definitely a massive rip off! In hindsight I should have checked the price before going.

How much I paid for my tour round China Town!

I'm back in the dorm room now to chill for a bit. I'm going to meet up with the girl from the plane in a an hour to get some dinner. I've booked onto a city tour for tomorrow, a cu chi tunnels trip the day after, and a trip down the Mekong Delta to explore some islands for the next day. The whole lot only cost £20!

That's all for now folks :)
